ARCHBISHOP CARROLL HIGH SCHOOL Athletic Hall of Fame 2008 NOMINATION PROCESS For over fifty years, Archbishop Carroll High School has produced numerous coaches, teams and athletes worthy of induction into the Athletic Hall of Fame. At the inaugural Luncheon last year two such men, Maus Collins and Bob Dwyer, were honored. There are still many more who deserve recognition. To this end, the Athletic Hall of Fame Committee decided to have an annual luncheon to honor our extraordinary athletes, coaches and teams who achieved great success while here at Archbishop Carroll High School. The next luncheon is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, October 18, 2008. Because we have so many candidates and to avoid the foreseeable chaos of inducting too many people at one time, the committee decided that for the next few years each induction ceremony would focus on a particular decade. Every decade is unique and had its champions. The 2008 Hall of Fame nominations will be limited, therefore, to athletes, coaches, and teams from the 1950’s. The following year nominations will be open to the classes of the 60’s; the following year, the 70’s, etc, until we have spanned the seven decades of Carroll’s existence. The inaugural Athletic Hall of Fame Luncheon was a success. We look forward to many more to pay fitting tribute to great Carroll athletes and coaches.
