Academic Testing Academic Testing Counselors, in conjuction with the Academic Vice Principal, implement the standardized testing program. Freshmen and Sophomores take the National Educational Development Test (NEDT), Juniors take the Preliminary SAT (PSAT). Archbishop Carroll is a test center for the SAT and ACT college entrance examinataions. Students are encouraged to take one or both of these examinations by the end of their Junior year, and are encouraged to retest in the Fall of their Senior year.
