DIRECTIONS TO ARCHBISHOP CARROLL HIGH SCHOOL Maps From downtown Washington: Proceed north on North Capitol Street. Cross over Michigan Avenue. At your next traffic light (Harewood Road), make a right. School entrance is on the right. From the Maryland Beltway: Take Exit 28B: New Hampshire Avenue South, toward Takoma Park. Follow New Hampshire Avenue approximately 4.7 miles, crossing over University Boulevard and Eastern Avenue. Make a left onto North Capitol Street. Follow North Capitol Street approximately 1 mile, crossing over Missouri Avenue, and alongside Rock Creek Cemetery. North Capitol Street veers left at Rock Creek Cemetery. After veering left, get in left hand lane and make a left onto Harewood Road (follow signs for Harewood Road, National Shrine and Pope John Paul II Cultural Center). School entrance is on the right, just after you turn onto Harewood Road. FROM ROUTE 50/EAST Follow Route 50/East, passing over Maryland Beltway to Baltimore Washington Parkway. Take BW Parkway Sourth (toward DC) to South Dakota Avenue exit. Follow South Dakota Avenue approximately 2 miles, passing over Bladensburg Road and Rhode Island Avenue. After passing the Dwight Mosely Athletic Fields and passing over Bladensburg Road and Taft Junior High on your left, make a left turn onto Taylor Street (there is a traffic light at this intersection). Follow Taylor Street approximately 1.4 miles, crossing over Michigan Avenue and Taylor Street Bridge. After the bridge, tavel up the steep hill and proceed straight through the traffic light at the top of the hill (this puts you on Harewood Road) Follow Harewood Road 2/10's of a mile and the school entrance is on the left. FROM VIRGINIA Virginia Beltway to 395 North, across the Potomac River. Follow 395 North until it ends at New York Avenue. Make a right onto New York Avenue, and continue bearing right, taking M Street eastbound. Follow M Street to North Capitol Street. Turn left onto North Capitol Sreet . Proceed north on North Capitol Street, crossing over Michigan Avenue. At your next traffic light (Harewood Road), make a right. School entrance is on the right. METRORAIL (SUBWAY): By Blue Line, transfer to Red Line (toward Glenmont) at Metro Center station. Follow Red Line five stops to Brookland-Catholic University station. By yellow Line , transfer to the Red Line (toward Glenmont) at Gallery Place-Chinatown and follow Red line four stops to Brookland-Catholic University station. By Green Line (from Greenbelt, Md), transfer to Red Line (toward Shady Grove) at Fort Totten station. Follow Red Line one stop to Brookland-Catholic University station. By Green Line (from Anacostia area), transfer to the Red Line (toward Glenmont) at Gallery Place-Chinatown. Follow Red Line four stops to Brookland-Catholic University station. Metrobus: Route H8 includes a stop at the corner of Harewood Road (also called Fort Drive) and 2nd Street, 1/2 block east of Archbishop Carroll High School. The H8 bus route runs between the Rhode Island Avenue subway station and stops at the Brookland-Catholic University Subway station and proceeds westbound to Mt. Pleasant.
